Linda M. Harris, MD, University Of Buffalo – Kaleida Health, Buffalo, Elected To Distinguished Fellows Status, Society For Vascular Surgery

CHICAGO (June 18, 2008) —

Dr. Linda M. Harris was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) at the 62nd Vascular Annual Meeting on June 5, 2008. She is an associate professor of surgery, program director of vascular surgery residency and the interim director of vascular surgery at the University of Buffalo. Dr. Harris’ election was based upon her scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.

“We are proud to include Dr. Harris as a distinguished fellow in the Society for Vascular Surgery,” said G. Patrick Clagett, MD, SVS president. “She exemplifies the qualities and commitment to excellence our membership subscribes to in vascular health care.”

Dr. Harris has published 37 articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored two book chapters and served as a reviewer for many journals, including the European Journal of Vascular Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery and the Journal of Vascular Surgery, where she serves as a Distinguished Reviewer. Dr. Harris also has given numerous local, regional and national presentations. 

In addition to her dedication to the SVS, Dr. Harris is involved with the American College of Surgeons, American Venous Forum, Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery, Association of Women Surgeons, Eastern Vascular Society, and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. She also is a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Residency Review Committee for Surgery.
