ACI Medical is proud to present ArtAssist(R)...the Arterial Assist Device at the Vascular Annual Meeting. Our featured therapeutic device is a home use treatment for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The mechanisms of action including arterial collateralization have been well identified. The device parameters of pressure, timing and compression locations have been optimized for PAD. It is shown to be effective in increasing pain free walking distance in claudicants for a sustained period in three independent studies. It has been shown to prevent amputations in critically ischemic limbs in three independent studies. This treatment modality is well tolerated and represents a cost effective alternative to other medical and surgical interventions. Call 888 4 LEG FLO, Booth 230.
Anaconda™, designed and manufactured by Vascutek, a Terumo Company, represents the new generation of AAA stent graft systems. Intuitive and modular in design, it is the only repositionable device available. The device is CE marked, available in selected countries and is currently undergoing clinical trials in the USA. Cura Surgical’s offering includes Surgical Site Infection (SSI) prevention solutions, minimally invasive surgical instruments and implantables. Call 888-508-CURA (2872), Booth 822.
CVRx, Inc. has developed an implantable device for the treatment of drug resistant hypertension. The Rheos® Hypertension System is an investigational device and is designed to electrically activate the carotid baroreceptors, the body’s natural pressure sensors. When the baroreceptors are activated, signals are sent through neural pathways to the brain and interpreted as a rise in blood pressure. The brain works to counteract this rise in blood pressure, by sending signals to the heart, blood vessels and kidneys to reduce blood pressure. Early clinical study results have shown the device can significantly reduce blood pressure in drug resistant hypertension patients. Call 763-416-2840, Booth 200.
Digisonics will be showcasing the DigiNet Pro system at the Vascular Annual Meeting. DigiNet enables secure web-based access to the entire cardiovascular image management and clinical reporting system. It is the ideal solution for fully-functional remote reading of cardiovascular studies away from the office. Call 800-940-3240, visit or www.digison.net, Booth 122.
In the April 2008 edition of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, lead author Sanjiv Parikh, MD, details the results of a two-year retrospective patient study of medical technology developed by EKOS Corp. in the treatment of DVT. Dr. Parikh and his co-authors concluded that accelerated thrombolysis “was shown to be a safe and efficacious treatment for DVT in this multicenter experience. The addition of ultrasound reduces total infusion time and provides a greater incidence of complete lysis [clot dissolution] with a reduction in bleeding rates.” Call 888-400-3567, Booth 926.
